LAUDATO SI' WEEK is coming soon!

On April 22, 2020 the world celebrated the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day!

Now . .  get ready for:
LAUDATO SI’ WEEK

  (May 16 -24)

an entire week to commemorate
the 5-year anniversary of Pope Francis’
“Letter to the Whole World” titled:
Laudato Si: On Care
for Our Common Home

AN INVITATION FROM POPE FRANCIS

During
of Laudato Si' Week
we'll address some questions:

What does the phrase

Laudato Si'

actually mean?

Why did the Pope address
 his encyclical letter
'to the whole world'
  – not just Catholics?

What's in it?
 (in 5 minutes or less!)

Where can I read Laudato Si' ?

What does the Pope's message mean for me?
for my family, my community
 . . .  and beyond?

Look for answers to the above questions (and more)

Earth Day's 50th Anniversary and Laudato Si's 5th Anniversary!

A Time for Reflection, Prayer, Commitment and Action

50 years ago on April 22, 1970
the very first “Earth Day” took place and gave birth to the modern environmental movement.

5 years ago on May 24, 2015
Pope Francis released Laudato Si’ the first papal encyclical to focus entirely on the environment, its destruction, and how humanity is called to “Care for Our Common Home” in a comprehensive way.

Along with the Catholic Climate Covenant and the Global Catholic Climate Movement, this blog will be offering opportunities for reflection, prayer, commitment, and action inspired by both Earth Day and Laudato Si’ throughout the Easter Season: a time of rebirth and renewal.

Look for new
"Earth Day @ 50 and Laudato Si’ @ 5"

announcements each week on Our Mother of Sorrows Parish's website and facebook page, and on this
 “Holy Ground Common Ground”  blog.
